Adhesive Solutions for Edgebanding
Once furniture and decorative panels have been laminated, they need to be finished and edged with matching materials to become atheistically appealing. Gluing straight or soft formed edgings is normally carried out on edgebanders or machining centres using thermo plastic adhesives (hot melt). Chemique’s Protak range of hot melt adhesives has an extensive variety of grades to suit all types of machine and edging material.
On offer are hot melts suitable for plastic, wood and cellulosic edgings as well as products that are suitable for shaped panels and softforming. The various grades combine a variety of open times and viscosities with high specific adhesion and good temperature resistance.
As gloss panels have become more fashionable, Chemique has recently developed an unfilled transparent hot melt and a lightly filled translucent grade that will ensure the glue line is invisible and will not telegraph.
